What Happened?

When I filed my tax return, I ended up owing about $15,000. I wasn’t sure how much I would owe because I had rental income, but I also had expenses. For some reason I thought that one would just offset the other. I also got laid off from my job.

Because I couldn’t give the CRA a payment arrangement that they would accept, the moment I got a new job, they started garnishing 50% of my wages.

The Solution!

Fortunately I was able to use a process through a trustee that was not Bankruptcy. It’s called a Consumer Proposal. It immediately stopped the wage garnishment and helped me clean up the financial mess.
