Affordable Family Activities in the GTA 2018

  1. Evergreen Brick Works

A children’s garden, lookout path, bike trails, scavenger hunts, and more are all available for FREE at Evergreen Brick Works, located in Toronto. There are tons of special events happening, too, that will fit into any budget!

  1. High Park

This is Toronto’s largest park, covering 161 hectares. It includes a zoo, greenhouses, playgrounds, hiking trails, and much more. Your family will have fun just walking around or bring a Frisbee and picnic lunch for a day-long excursion. And don’t forget about the incredible Adventure Park, which your kids are sure to love.   1. Corktown Common

  1. Greenwood Park Outdoor Pool

If you can’t make it to Toronto’s beaches, the Greenwood Park Outdoor Pool in East York is an awesome alternative. Besides the 35 m pool, there’s also a splash pad, ball hockey rink, children’s playground, ball diamonds, sports fields, and more. See it all here.

  1. Lake Wilcox Park

Lake Wilcox Park in Richmond Hill is undergoing a waterfront transformation! With a newly installed promenade, splash pad, and playground, your family will have plenty to do here. In the next year, the Town of Richmond Hill is also creating a new youth area with a skate park, volleyball courts, fitness equipment, and more. Check it out!

  1. Kidstown Water Park

The Kidstown Water Park in Scarborough includes a tipping bucket, spray rings, wading pool, splash pad, squirting aquatic animals, a slide, and much more!   1. Community Holiday Celebrations and Festivals

For families with older children, there are lots of festivals and community events around the GTA, some of which have free or affordable admission. There’s Doors Open Toronto on May 26 and 27, the Streetsville Founders’ Bread and Honey Festival in Mississauga on June 1, 2, and 3, the Beaches International Jazz Festival on from July 6 to 28, and much more.
